In 2007, I took this picture of DC with Rock Creek Park in the foreground from a helicopter. This year, my crew needed a picture that both identified and defined our region for our annual report. The picture needed natural area, but also an identifiable feature that people could immediately recognize. This was the best we could do without resorting to a cliched shot of the National Mall.
